Dining room set for blog

It’s finally beginning to feel like spring and this amazing weather is inspiring the entire Mum’s Place team! Bright whites, natural wood, iridescent gold, and clean lines are abundant in Pacific Grove right now, so obviously these design elements are what influenced our Four Top Picks for April!

Warren Lounge Chair by Palecek

Warren Lounge Chair by Palecek

This lounge chair absolutely wowed us when we brought it to our showroom. The pole rattan frame and geometric hand-shaped split pole rattan shell mixes organic lines and natural materials with sharp and clean modern patterns beautifully. Neither the organic nor the modern elements take over the piece, and instead blend into a beautiful and elegant design. Not to mention the bright, crisp, white cushions make the whole piece feel light, airy, and natural, contrasting with the dark espresso finish of the wood. Pair this piece with some more minimal accents, like wooden and glass top coffee table or a simple but traditional rolled arm sofa with nail-head trim!

Bryant Sectional by Flexsteel

Bryant Sectional by Flexsteel

We chose this sectional because it is a comfortable classic. While it has modern, clean lines, it also offers softly-padded arms and boxed seat cushions. The arms and seat cushions are minimally detailed with single-needle top stitching, and the block legs are a bold but solid finish to the sectional. The Bryant Sectional is perfect for someone who doesn’t like traditional furniture but also doesn’t want to sacrifice comfort for more minimalist and cold modern furniture that we’re seeing a lot of lately. This sectional is even available with down cushions if you want to sink a little deeper, and you can cover it in one of thousands of fabric and leathers to cover it. We recommend using either a highly textured fabric, or one with a subtle pattern to give it a little more dimension and warmth.

What makes the Bryant so amazing is also its versatility. The soft modern design makes it incredibly easy to pair with chairs, coffee tables, rugs, and other accessories. It can basically go with any style!

Bent Dining Table by Moe’s

Now if you like live-edge wood, this is the dining table for you! This minimal but industrial dining table is perfect for those who want that Manhattan Loft look without the severity of industrial furniture design. The organic lines from the live-edge table are interesting and inviting, and the naturally occurring knots and wood grain enhance the natural side of the piece. Made from high quality acacia wood, and complete with a strong bent iron frame, this dining table is a must-have for anyone who wants a cool and kind of subtle accent piece for their home. You can pair it with cool leather upholstered chair and a matching bench.

Fauna Buffet Lamps by Uttermost

Fauna Buffet Lamps by Uttermost

Perhaps a little more whimsical than the first three picks, these table lamps are absolutely gorgeous. The hand-crafted piece, featuring flowing edges and metallic bronze reverse painted finish, makes it effortlessly chic. The sculptural glass is supported by a crystal foot, and the brass-plated details are perfect additions. The linen drum lampshade adds to the height and grandeur of the Fauna Lamp without taking away from it’s simple elegance. The iridescence of the lamp will reflect the colors of the room, which means it will fit in with many different color schemes. They will look great with simple, natural wood consoles, or gold plated glass-top tables. Even certain hues of green, blue, yellow, and orange walls can make these really pop!
